With former UN secretary-general Ban ki-moon
Juan in 2010 joined the position of Process research chemist at Merck and remained there with them till 2014. During his learning days, he has assisted famous photographers Eugene Richards and Lori Grinker.
Juan Arredondo has also served as an assistant teacher at the International Centre of Photography (ICP) in New York City. When he was working in ICP he traveled to Columbia to photograph the most protracted conflict of the country.
To date, he is connected with The New York Times as a Freelance Photographer. In 2017 he started working for National Geographic as a freelance photographer and is still connected with them.
Working for The New York Times and National Geographic his many photographs have been published in The Wall Street Journal, ESPN, Vanity Fair, LeMonde Magazine, Newsweek, and many others.

Earlier his every different work has produced by UNHCR, UNMAS, Save the Children, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and International Rescue Committee (IRC) In 2020 he twisted his professionalism a little bit and started working as
Visiting Professor Visual Journalism for Arizona State University. After August 2021 he is still working as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University.
