Andrea Fuentes rescued Anita from the bottom of the pool

Anita Alvarez who is famous for her Synchronized swimming skills got faint at World Aquatic Championships. She sunk at the bottom of the pool during the end of her solo free routine in Budapest on 22 June 2022. She got rescued by her coach Andrea Fuentes. Coach dragged her from the bottom of the pool to the surface and sent her to the medical center. Coach Andrea shared in media that her student Anita Alvarez is now doing well after getting treatment at the hospital.

She shared that it was a scary time for her after her student went down. Coach shared that the main reason for Anita’s fainting due to the extra effort expended during her routine training. Water entered in her lungs and later after treatment, she started breathing again and everything is ok now. She is under rest and after the doctor’s consultation, it will be shared in the media whether she will continue to compete at the World Aquatics Championships finals or not.

Anita is participating in the Swimming competition since 2010. In her long career, she has won many golds, bronze, and silver medals. When she was 14 years old she went for Olympic Team Trial and she participated on 11 November 2011.

Anita Alvarez was born into a family of sports people. Her mother Karen Brinkman Alvarez is a participant in US Olympic Trial and got 7th Ranked. But it is not known which sports her mother use to play. Her father David Alvarez has given training to two Olympians but his category of sports is also not known. Anita’s Grandfather remained in charge of all the office officials during the 1980 Olympic Games.

Her grandfather was also and he was the timekeeper of the ‘Miracle on Ice’ hockey game in Lake Placid, NY. Her brother’s name is Tommy Álvarez and he is elder than Anita. Tommy is a Botanical expert
